Q: What makes Benedict Medicine different from other practices?
A: Benedict Medicine is an independent, local family practice that is designed with you in mind. We bring a wealth of clinical expertise and a personal touch in caring for our patients. We value the trust you place in us.
Q: What services do you provide?
A: Benedict Medicine offers a wide range of clinical services for adults and children, which can be seen here.
Q: Do you accept my insurance?
A: No, Benedict Medicine does not accept, bill or receive reimbursement from insurance. We prefer to say that Benedict Medicine accepts all patients irrespective of their insurance status. Our relationship with our patients transcends insurance. That’s why we’ve structured a membership model that allows us to treat you as a person, just like we’d want for our own family.
Q: Do you accept patients who do not have insurance? What about patients who belong to Health Share Ministries?
A: Benedict Medicine is especially well-suited for people who do not have insurance, who are members of Health Share Ministries or who have insurance coverage with high deductibles and out-of-pocket costs. In addition to providing care at affordable monthly rates, our practice saves patients money and time by contracting laboratory rates directly with the lab, and by offering wholesale generic medications in the office at steep discounts. By reducing the costs of these ancillary services, Benedict Medicine assists patients in being effective stewards of their families' resources irrespective of the type of insurance they hold.
Q: I don’t go to the doctor often. Why should I become a patient of Benedict Medicine?
A: People who rarely see the doctor may nonetheless still have sudden medical needs requiring a doctor’s attention. We’ve designed our practice to make it easy for our contributors to receive the care and attention they need when they need it (unlike the insurance-based ‘copay’ model, which discourages patients from coming to the doctor by charging for each visit). Our membership model also makes it easy to receive recommended preventive care and screenings, with transparency in our negotiated low prices for labs and many generic medications when indicated. Whether by telemedicine, in-office visit, or a simple phone call or asynchronous message, Benedict Medicine will be there for you when you need us.
Q: Is Benedict Medicine a form of insurance?
A: No, Benedict Medicine is not an insurance plan. We offer comprehensive primary care for a recurring contribution. We recommend that our contributor-patients maintain insurance for other medical services that are not a part of primary care, such as subspecialty care, emergency room visits, surgeries and hospitalizations.
